International Journal of Biotechnology and Computational Science

Peer Review Policy

Overview

The International Journal of Biotechnology and Computational Science (IJBCS) adopts a single-blind peer review process to ensure scientific integrity, constructive feedback, and impartial evaluation. In this review model, reviewers remain anonymous, while authors' identities are disclosed to the reviewers.

Type of Peer Review Used

We use a Single-Blind Review system:

  • The reviewers know the identity of the authors.

  • The authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

This model supports a transparent assessment process while protecting reviewer anonymity and promoting honest critique.

Peer Review Workflow

  1. Initial Editorial Screening:
All manuscripts are initially reviewed by the editorial office to ensure relevance to the journal's scope, basic formatting, and originality (including a plagiarism check).

  2. Reviewer Assignment:
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to two or more expert reviewers in the relevant field.

  3. Evaluation Period:
Reviewers are expected to return their assessments within 7–14 days.

  4. First Editorial Decision:
Editors make an initial decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject) within 3–7 days of receiving reviewer feedback.

  5. Revision & Final Decision:
Authors are invited to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments. The final decision is typically issued within 30 days from submission.
